PROMETHEANISM AND ALEXANDER BOGDANOV’S PHILOSOPHY

Abstract

The article considers Prometheanistic aspect in the creative work of the Russian revolutionary Alexander Bogdanov. To achieve this research objective, the author chooses a selected reading method applied by Quentin Meillassoux in relation to Gilles Deleuze’s works and a fabulation method introduced by Stephen Shaviro to examine Whitehead’s philosophy. The analysis has revealed similarities between philosophical provisions of Prometheanism and Alexander Bogdanov’s conceptions clarifying the nature of human experience. Analysing Bogdanov’s texts, the researcher reveals ontological coincidence between a fact of life and transformation, identifies epistemological coincidence of transcendental and empirical, clarifies political coincidence of local and universal, emphasizes the radical denial of substantialism when it comes to interpreting a human being.
