Activities of school associations for the preservation and perpetuation of the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War in the Pskov region as part of the All-Union Youth Campaign in the Places of Revolutionary, Military and Labor Glory

Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the commemorative practices concerning those who died during the Great Patriotic War in the Pskov region as part of the implementation of the All-Union Campaign in the places of revolutionary, military and labor glory in the 1960-1970s. The research is based on regulatory and reporting documents of party and Komsomol bodies of the Pskov region, which allows to comprehensively examine the memorial events aimed at the civic-patriotic education of youth in a regional context. The article reveals the objectives of the campaign in the places of revolutionary, military and labor glory, the significance of the events held, the activities of the youth movement of red pathfinders and the main results of the work, highlighting the problems that became the reasons for reorienting the program from the practical to the theoretical area of civic-patriotic education. The scientific novelty of the research consists in considering the state of memorialization work in the Pskov region in the 1960-1970s based on previously unpublished archival materials. As a result of the research, the results of the analytical work are presented, and the positive and negative aspects of the commemorative practice under consideration are highlighted.
