Specificity of Theatre Broadcast Perception. Theatre HD as Synthesis of the Immediate and the Mediated

Abstract

The paper aims to identify specificity of perceiving live broadcasts of theatre productions conducted within the framework of the Theatre HD project. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the phenomenon of film broadcasting of a theatrical performance is considered taking into account its intermedial nature. The research findings are as follows: the author shows that theatre HD cinemacast, synthesis of theatrical and cinematographic aesthetics, can be considered as a new form of artistic representation combining features of the live and technologically mediated performance, speaking in general terms, combining cinema as a complete artwork and theatre as an ongoing performance.
