Communication code in the space of power relations

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the role of the communication code as a meaning-forming mechanism in the political environment. In the context of increasing socio-cultural diversity, the issue of communication is of particular importance. Today, science defines communication not only as a process of information transfer, but also as a polysemantic and context-dependent process. In this context, the author proposes to consider the communication code as a special analytical tool that allows us to identify the hidden mechanisms of meaning production in political communication. Although the concept of “communication code” already exists in scientific discourse, the author focuses on its political-philosophical interpretation and application to the analysis of power relations in modern society. Thus, the scientific novelty of the paper lies not only in the introduction of the term, but also in the substantiation of the author’s view of the communication code as a meaning-forming mechanism in the political environment, based on an interdisciplinary approach and actualizing the socio-cultural context of the research. The article analyzes the communication code as a meaning-forming mechanism in the political environment. Based on the concepts of J. Habermas, the author examines the relationship between power, trust, and communication. The power communication code is revealed as a system of signs, symbols, and practices that participate in the formation of the cultural identity of society. In the Russian Federation, for example, the power communication code relies on state symbols, norms of political culture, etc. The analysis revealed that the communication code plays a key role in building trust between society and the government, contributing to the strengthening of social identity, the legitimacy of political institutions, and the construction of sustainable communication models.
