Repertoire strategies of Russian-Chinese concert projects of the 21st century (based on works for symphony orchestra and string instruments)

Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of repertoire strategies in Russian-Chinese concert projects of the 21st century as a form of artistic interaction between musical cultures. The aim of the study is to identify the main principles underlying the construction of concert programs and the artistic strategies used to present Russian and Chinese musical culture in the international concert space, based on symphonic and string instrumental works. The article examines theoretical approaches to the study of intercultural interaction between musical traditions and analyzes the historical prerequisites for the development of Russian-Chinese musical cooperation. The scientific novelty lies in distinguishing levels of artistic communication (repertoire, composer-performer, and media) and in systematizing forms of intercultural interaction on this basis. The analysis revealed the following: a strategy of dialogic juxtaposition of the academic European and Chinese traditions (at the repertoire level); a strategy of artistic synthesis of national intonational elements and academic forms (at the level of composition and performance interpretation); and a strategy of media representation of musical art in the context of digital culture (at the media level). It was found that contemporary Russian-Chinese concert projects create a multilayered space for artistic dialogue in which national traditions preserve their identity while simultaneously being integrated into the global context.
