Abstract

The article focuses on analysing L. Wittgenstein’s influence on philosophy of education. The paper argues that gnoseological and methodological potential of Wittgenstein’s philosophy can be successfully used for educational purposes. The author concludes that Wittgenstein’s speculations on the role of language in establishing social relations help theoreticians of education, teachers to achieve deeper understanding of communication mechanism. Wittgenstein’s analysis of the interaction of the notions “internal” and “external”, suggested means to understand linguistic expressions are of great importance for educational process since they help to form critical thinking skills, the ability to argue and analyse.
